I have the pleasure of publishing an exclusive video interview with Liz Wilson who is a freelance brand journalist, writer and editor based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Liz is talking to us about creating and curating valuable online content. If you don’t know what is meant by “curating” content – view the video interview to find out more about this powerful way to filter and pass on relevant information to your clients and prospects.
You now have the choice of navigating directly to the video, or to read on and discover more about the concept of Content marketing.
Content marketing – also referred to as Inbound marketing – is a way to make your customers’ and prospects’ lives easier with useful information, delivered in a consistent way and over a prolonged period of time.
There’s really nothing new with the above approach. Establishing a trust relationship – in a genuinly generous way – has always been good for business. Because people buy from people! This has been true ever since mankind buys and sells products and services.
When an online expert is generous with good advice and helps us solve an irritating little problem we’ve had to contend with for a long time – we remember. And when we’re ready to purchase a relevant service or product, he’ll be on top of our list.
A lot has been written about the power of reciprocity which – according to behavioural psychologists – is ingrained in human behaviour and is apparently one of the reasons why mankind survived and evolved.
So, consider content marketing as a viable alternative to harpooning potential clients with flashy marketing campaigns and intrusive banner ads.
